6 Weeks to go and it is starting....
Written by Administrator
OK, so now it is starting.... I am crashing at 8:30 at night, feeling very tired. Most likely this is being caused by the lowering of carbs and also because of my 3:30 wake up time. The problem with going to bed too early is my bodies alarm clock gets all screwed up and I end up tossing and turning through the night. For example, I went to bed at 9:00 last night and for once I felt great....5 hours later at 2:30 a.m. I am wide awake and just waiting for my alarm clock to go off at 3:30. I did have a great chest workout and 25 minute cardio session but do not know what is in store for me tonight. My sleeping pattern is so whacked right now but I did notice one thing. Last Friday my wife met me for lunch and I had a large salad with steak tips, I slept great that night! it could be the lack of fats in my body or the carbs or maybe both??

Despite my lousy sleeping habits I did manage to do very well on my weigh in. I lost 1 pound of weight and almost all of it was fat! this is great news and hopefully it wasn't a fluke. I am going to continue with my current diet, workout and cardio sessions and hope the same will happen this week. Looking at records from exactly 2 years ago when I last competed, I am now 2 pounds heavier in muscle now than I was then....cool!! Although this is good news, it is only 1 week good news (Body fat wise) if I can do this 2 weeks in a row then I know I am on to something.

Posing class went well last Sunday but what a difference lighting makes. We (about a dozen of us) have our lessons in a well lit room, the problem with this is that you look so flat and disappointing. Nancy had us move into a different room the last half hour of or training to show us the difference in lighting. Amazing! we all look like we are almost contest ready and we still have 6 weeks left, I think it was a boost to our ego's if anything to finally see cuts and striations that we otherwise would not see in brighter light.

See ya next week!
